Final Project

Technology is a very important part of my life. Without it I would be lost in this world. With technology I interact, be entertained, and even make life simpler. It helps me get through my boring daily routine I go through every day of the week. For example, social networking on my phone entertains me throughout the day when I end up being bored or have nothing to do outside. That technology helps me get through my day without having to fall asleep due to boredom. Technology is becoming more of an impact of people of this generation and even the next. Almost everything in this day and age is used through the use of a computer.
As you have already probably noticed, i am always on my phone. This device plays a very big role everyday of my life. This phone can be used for way more uses than just a simpla phone call. It can be used to check my email, as an alarm clock, listen to music and even check my bank account. With this i can also surf the web and catch up on news and important information. When i have to wait for class i can also get on social networking and communicate with my friends. My mother can get in contact with me with this phone. before cell phones, pagers were used as a cell phone. I can never see myself with a pager, its ugly. With this device, it feels like having a computer in my hands.

This is a picture of the computer i have. Its something i use from the moment i wake up, to the moment before i go to sleep. With this device i can do anything and search for everything. This device helps my life become easier by helping me with homeworks or even projects. When it doesnt involve education, i use it to play games or communicate with my friends. I can also use it to watch movies when im bored. Its a very big screen also so it looks like a television. So when people come over i just throw a dvd in and just sit back and enjoy. With this device in your house, you can do anything on the web.

I showed up 15 minutes early to be completely ready. I made sure i ate good so i wouldnt be hungry while taking the exam. i made sure i had already turned off my phone so i would not be worried if it rings or vibrates. The prompt shows up and appears to be a old mean lady. She tells us its time and i go inside the classroom confident about finishing early. I recieve the passage and the booklet and i take my time reading it. After reading it i think about some claims and reasons i could possibly use to write a good essay. I then doze off like i usually do and start thinking about something else. When i realized what my introduction will look like i get to writing. After im done writing i re-read my essay for any grammer mistakes i could have made. When im done i just leave the classroom confident, the same way i walked in.

CAT 6 Blog Entry # 4.3

After reading this passage, it made me really think about the affect Google has had on me. I agree with the author that Google is making us stupid in the sense of us being too lazy. However, Google does the same job that an index on the back of a textbook does. It shows the page a person can go to instead of going though all the pages. Other websites can be misleading and possibly have the wrong answers. That’s why the internet is such a special place, by having so much possibilities and choices to choose from.  I believe that the internet is affecting people in many ways.
In this passage, the author Nicholas Carr explains that he feels that the search engine website Google is making people stupid. He gives the website credit for the amazing ability to show useful information about anything in the blink of an eye. However, he feels like people become smarter thinking for themselves instead of finding information quickly. Then he says that Google and internet in general is a distraction from our concentration of our thoughts. He goes on to say that Google makes more money the more people click on links and its making us think superficially. He finishes his passage by saying if we want to develop our minds, we have to turn off most electronics and “start thinking”.
The internet can make people lazy which can lead to health issues. Nowadays anything can be done from the internet. People can go shopping through the internet instead of waiting on long lines and walking around from store to store. Some people can actually work at home on the computer instead of normally driving to a workplace. Now spending too much time sitting down using the computer can cause many issues. Earlier this year I spent a lot of time staying home using the internet for my entertainment. All my friends would want to play sports or go out and I would always make up an excuse to not go and stay home using my computer. After a month or so my mother would always say you getting fat and I was, but I never noticed it. Then one day I went out to play basketball and I was so out of shape that I played for a few minutes and just couldn’t get up.
Google can be used as “cheating” when it comes to schoolwork. Why go through so much work when you can search on Google. When I was a kid I had a project due that week which involved a bunch of questions. I was stressing it, going through all my notebooks and textbooks. My sister saw me and asked why I am spending so much looking for answers if I can just search on Google. That was the first time I was introduced to Google and I got my project done extremely fast. Unfortunately my teacher found out that I search Google and basically plagiarized everything and made me do it again.
Google can have all your personal information shown just by typing full name. Google has so much power that it can show sometimes too much information. By typing up a full name of a person many different links will come up. Most of the time that person’s twitter, facebook, and myspace will be shown. Many people might have a problem with their pages being shown without the permission given. That’s how fake profiles are made, by using information shown by Google.
The internet is a very special place that can be used in many beneficial ways to make the world easier and more entertaining. However, it can also have its many bad effects on people that can lead them to do many bad things. Google is starting to own everything on the internet by so much money being produced by people clicking on links. So we have got to start accepting that the internet is our future and will be used for everything.

CAT #5 Blog Entry 4.1

I enjoyed reading this passage because i agreed with most of the author's main ideas. It amazed me that spending too much time on the internet can cause health problems. The author pointed out many things, but he made it clear that the internet can help the children instead of it being useless. I believe that technology can be very beneficial to teenagers and children in many different ways instead of it being categorized as a bad thing.
The author of this passage first talks about his new book to explain that the internet can vbe used as a teaching tool. He then goes on to say that kids being on it frequently can experience health problems including obesity. So basically, i believe thatr the author does not fully agree with the use of internet for studies. However, since so many teenagers use it anyway, he finds methods that people can use to not get "plugged in". One of those methods or formulas he describes in his paasage is "30 min. of non-tech followed by an hour of tech". The author made this formula based on his experience with many families. The author than states that social networks, texting, and other tech is our social life and it helps us develop and grow.
Internet can play a parent role to help kids develop and grow. As i was growing up i had no father to show me or teach me any cool things. When my mom first bought a computer with internet, I spent long periods of time on it. While on it, social networks and other websites helped me become the man that i am today. It showed me what kind of clothes and snearkers i should wear because of its popularity. It also influenced my personality by showing me how to and how not to act around certain types of people. Basically what i am trying to say is that the internet is mainly responsible for who i am today.
Mobile devices and internet has made children's lives easier when it comes to school. When a child is assigned homework they can do a few things before going back to their notes or re-reading a chapter. They can easily use their mobile devices to text a friend for help on the subject or maybe even to copy the whole thing. They can also go on google and type in the exact question the homework is asking and find a quick answer. This would be easier than spending more time looking thr4iugh pages of the textbook and/or your notes for the answer. A teen can also use microsoft word to type the work up and actually see some errors they can correct. Eventually, people would go to school and type their notes instead of writing them down on a notebook.
Being "plugged in" can keep kids off the streets to prevent them from being involved with bad activities. A lot of people say that being plugged in can be a bad thing. However, I see it as a great thing. As a young teenager growing up my friends would always want to do bad things. Instead, i would just leave them to go home to use the internet. I guess i was obsessed with using the internet but it did me good because most of my friends have been to jail.
A lot of people always talk bad about the internet when it is clearly out future. Technology has affected in at least someway everyone living today. The author understands that it is taking over by showing that he has his methods in how children can connect it with studying.

The author's claim is " People do better their task when they do single tasks and multi-tasking peers to poor task. This is a good claim but it would be even better if the author wrote it in a clearer way. The author makes sure she uses examples and sources to back up her reasons. One source she used was a recent experiment from Stanford University. The author does good in not having too many run-on sentences and not talking about stuff that is irrelevant. Needs help to reorganize this sentence for better understanding. The author made really short paragraphs and she needs to make it more clear. I felt like she kept repeating herself. Also, there are many errors in her sentence structure which makes reading the essay difficult.

Blog 3.5 CAT 4 Rewrite

It has always amazed me when i see a fast food restaurant on every block in downtown Manhattan. This article amazed me even more by informing me about the affect it can have on inner-city communities. i believe that fast-food restaurants can affect the poorer americans. Almost everywhere in NYC, you can find a fast food place.
In this article the author tells us that the fast food companies are targeting poor inner-city communities. The autor then talks about his local McDonalds and how many poor people come in at around 5 pm, the times when people get off work. He also mentions the 'black' students, who also head to Mcdonalds right after they are done with school. The author then switches the topic to calories and how it is way above an average teenager's daily consumption. Finally, the author is basically against these companies which target these people in certain times of the year.
Fast food restaurants targets a lot of children because of their minor responsibilities. Right after they are done with school, the kids are most likely hungry and have money because of their parents. The adults are probably too busy working to cook. No matter where the school is, there is a fast food place nearby. School lunch is disgusting and the kids do not know about whats nutritious or not for the human body, which will make them head to any fast food place.
Poor people want to spend less money on food. Even bums on the street can ask for change on trains and save up enough to buy various items from the dollar menu. With more and any type of customers, McDonalds sells a lot which allows them to keep growing their food chains more and more. That is why there are more McDonalds around low income communities because there are more customers. Rich people would much rather buy a 7 dollar cheeseburger  instead of 1 dollar cheeseburger from McDonalds value meal. Therefore, they make more money where anybody and everybody can afford the low prices.
A Meal from a fast food place might cost about 5-7 dollars. People with families can buy meals from McDonalds for cheaper instead of buying rice and meat and actually wasting time cooking the meal. They dont want to go through all of those steps when they can go to the fast food place and get it in a couple of minutes. Even if it isnt healthy, people do not care. All they see it as is saving money, and today thats all people care about.
I live in Corona, Queens and on every corner there is a fast food restaurant. Right by the mall also, it has almost as much fast food places as the shopping stores. Inside the mall it has food courts with a lot of choices. Even outside it has Mcdonalds, pizza shops, hot dog stands. If i were to walk a block away i would find burger king. If i walked the other way i would hit wendys. So basically everywhere i go, i always have the choice of buying a cheeseburger and fries with a coke. With so many things i have going on everyday, i dont have much time so i would just order fast food because its very fast and fills me up. Thats one of the main reasons why people today buy fast food, they normally would not have the time and would want food fast.
Fast food restaurants are everywhere. Its sad that it targets the communities that my friends and i are living in today. They do not care about us because they know that too much of these meals will make us obese and overweight.

Summary of The Meatrix BLOG # 3.4

The Meatrix
The short film The Meatrix basically copies the movie the matrix in a funnier way in order to get their message across. Moopheus shows up where Leo is located and asks him if he would like to know the truth. Moopheus offers him 2 pills, a red pill that leads to the real world and the blue pill that makes Leo forget about his encounter with Moopheus. Leo chooses the red pill and they appear in a factory farm with horrible conditions. Moopheus then explains how factory famrs came from greedy corporations. Moopheus explained how in these farms many horrible things go on. Things such as animal cruelty, and massive pollution. Leo then joins their resistance but Moopheus makes it clear that it is us the consumer, who has the real power.

The Meatrix II
In the second film, two years have past by since Leo's mind has been freed. 10 million minds have been freed which made people start buying healthier foods. They then proceed to go inside of the Meatrix to show Leo the farm conditions. While there agents come to inject the animals with a growth antibiotic. Leo gets mad and starts fighting these agents. He wins the fight, but while doing so the other agents take Moopheus with them. Leo and chikity agree to rescue Moopheus but Leo makes it clear that it is up to us to stop these factory farms by buying dairy from small family farms.

The Meatrix II 1/2
In the third film, it first shows a recap of what has happened in the two previous films. Then it shows Leo and chikity approaching the factory where Moopheus is being held captive. The agent explains how that factory produces five-thousand cows per day. The agent then presses a button that makes a hole appear from under Moopheus that makes him fall onto a hook. Since he is tied up, Moopheus cannot get off the hook where he is hung which is taking him to a machine that would cut him up into pieces. Leo and Chikity then barge into the room where the agent is in and throw him into the same hole Moopheus went through. Moopheus and the agent continue fighting until Chikity presses the button for the machine to stop. Moopheus wins the fight and they end up escaping.

Family Farms
In this passage it explains why more and more family farms are going out of business. It tells the reader that it is mostly because of greedy corporations. The government force about 330 families out of their farm business per week. I personally think this is insane because family farms are better in many ways. They produce fresher and healthier foods. The factories can also harm our environment with all the chemicals and pesticides they use for their animals. The only way to solve this is to take a stand by buying only from small family businesses.

Blog 3.2: CAT # 3

It saddens me when I hear about bullying. I don’t know why but lately there have been a lot of suicides due to gay activities being exposed. Even though everybody should have their own right of privacy, it seems almost impossible with the internet. Everybody is spending more and more time online which makes them more open to the public to see their lives take place. With everybody using technology now, gossip travels much quicker. In the passage I agreed with Professor John Suler quote; “people say and do things in cyberspace that they wouldn’t ordinarily say or do in the face-to-face world”.
In this passage it talks about a guy named Dharun from Rutgers University betraying his roommate. He basically set up his webcam to watch what his roommate does when he asked Dharun for the room until midnight. It turns out that Dharun’s roommate had a guy in there and were making out. Not only did Dharun think it was a good idea to expose him about the incident on twitter, but he also put up images. When Dharun’s roommate found out that there were images of him and another guy he jumped off the George Washington Bridge three days later. The passage then talks about how the net can be somewhat the real world in the sense of bullying. It explains how cyber bullying can do, in some cases, more damage than real life bullying. The author gives an example by saying that in a school brawl a bully can see how much he is hurting the victim and will know his limits, but a cyber bully cannot and will never know the right time to stop.
One reason why I agree with the Professor is because people make fun of other people’s lifestyles online but cannot in their face. As the passage shows, Dahrun did all of the bullying online. There was no way he would have gone from person to person showing the images. Therefore, he posted them online and actually said it through his twitter. He wouldn’t have announced it in the hallways what he wrote on twitter because I don’t think he would have the heart to. Based on his actions, he will now have to face the consequences he has brought upon himself.
Another reason why I believe this is because of the critics that give their opinions on sports players. I remember when Mike Tyson was giving crazy interviews everybody thought he was a crazy man. Critics would say so many bad things about him, his family, and his lifestyle. I know deep down inside the words of the people hurt him more than any boxing fight he has ever encountered. No critic in their right mind however, would say these things to his Tyson’s face. They are too scared to do so. Mike is the type to just snap and take action to something he would probably regret later. So, all the critics can do is sit behind their desk and write all these bad things about him.
Another reason why I agree with that quote is because of Prank Callers. They are the worst type of cowards. They call you in the middle of the night to just stay quiet or say something they think would be funny. The bad thing about this is there is no way to stop the caller from calling unless you change your number or not answer blocked calls. On the internet at least you can block people online on programs such as Facebook, MySpace, and even aim. In a face-to-face world however, a person would never do that. It’s like a person would never knock on your door and not say anything or make up funny noises and voices.
Another reason would be fake identities. On Facebook, many disguised people create fake pages of other people. These people mostly use girl’s pictures to create these fake pages. On these pages they always make the girl seem like a slut because of so many different ways. Sometimes they make it seem that way because of the conversations through messages between the fake girl and a lot of guys. With so many conversations happening, more and more guys will believe the girl is that way and more will talk. I witnessed this happen in my high school to a girl. The fake page about her was going on for months without her knowing. Everybody talked bad about her until she found out and started telling everybody it was a fake page. The rumors eventually stopped but the image stood with her until she graduated.
It is amazing what the internet has the power to do in the society we live in today. It is really pathetic what people can do for some laughs or attention. With more and more people using internet nowadays we should consider the privacy and secrets of others.

A Coppertop Life's Artifacts # 3

lg-32pc5rv.jpg
My little cousin watches television all the time. He used to the think that the people in shows or the cartoons were actually real. He believed that there were actual people behind that screen. Whenever there was an action movie and an explosion occurred my little cousin would duck or hide. Since there was normal people talking and acting he confused it with his reality. My aunt eventually told him that it wasn't real, that it was a video of people being recorded for our entertainment. Television can also have a big influence on people. It can make people act a certain way towards a particular situation based on what they have watched on tv. Whenever a popular show comes out, people end up following whatever the show is about. For example, Jersey shore the show has had a big influence on the people I am friends with. They always say the same catch-phrases and some have even started dressing like them. Not to long ago a kid was watching superman and decided that he himself can be superman also. So, he dove off his 9th floor balcony and died. The stuff shown on television can have a major influence on kids and can confuse their reality. They can believe anything is true.

A Coppertop Life's Artifacts # 2

drugs-abuse.jpg
Drugs are a big problem in our country today. Drugs can make people hallucinate in many different ways. It can make people do crazy things they would not have done if they were in their normal state. Drugs can also make everything seem a laughing matter. It can take a person’s worries and stress away and make them forget about it. It can also make people do many dangerous things without realizing that it can cause harm to themselves or even others. Most importantly, it makes people see things that are not real. As in the movies, people tend to see many different colors and shapes while being under the influence. It can also make people see things or people that do not exist. When people start to use drugs more and more they become addicted. Since they are always on drugs they probably would see these crazy things al the time and start to make it their reality. Since they are always hallucinating they confuse reality to the things they observe. When we see these people we believe that they are crazy. In their world, however, they are living what they believe is a normal life.

A Coppertop Life's Artifacts # 1

Front, back, and side views of iPhone 4 in black.
I chose this picture because this phone can do many things for us that would have us relying on it. Basically, it has almost every type of important device combined into this. It can be used for many expensive things like a camera, a video recorder so there would be no need to buy them when you can buy the iphone. Nowadays theres an app for almost everything. You can now handle your bank issues directly through your phone instead of going to the actual bank. You can even webcam now with the iphone 4 instead of just hearing each other. It makes it seem like the two people having the conversation is actually right nect to each other talking, but in reality they can be very far from each other. The more advance the iphones get, the less we will need to buy other things and eventually we wont even have to buy a computer anymore. I have the iphone and i always hear complaints from my mother whenever we go out together. She says that when im home i spend too much time on the computer and when im outside i spend too much time on my phone. Sometimes she gets so mad at me and starts calling me addicted. It makes her angry for some odd reason to see me use my phone when we're out.  It has an effect on everybody whether we are aware of it or not. It seperates us from communicating more in real life rather than being on the phone or texting.

My Archetype 2.1

A warrior is someone who is similar to a hero. They will do whatever it takes to rescue some or fight against a threat to overcome the wrong. A warrior believes thier power can overcome any obstacle and they will never give up on anything. A warrior is their own leader, they dont wait for others opinions, instead they take action in the situation. A warrior can also be a bad character fighting for something wrong. The bad type is the one who has no mercy and doesn't care who's feelings gets hurt. No matter if they're bad or good, the warrior will accomplish their goal or die trying.

I chose this because this is a picture of the movie "The Warriors". The group of people in the picture are in a Coney Island gang named The Warriors. In the movie they go to a peace meeting in the bronx where every gang in NYC shows up to end the war they have between themselves. When the leader of the most powerful gang gets killed, the assasin puts the blame on the Warriors. A lot of cops cars then show up and was set out to arrest anyone in their gang uniform no matter what they did. Every gang in NYC turns on the warriors and theres no way for them to get back home safe. They are considered warriors because at the end they got to coney island even though they lost a few members. They never gave up and accomplish their goal even with the fights in between. At the end the most powergang realizes that it wasnt them that was responsible for their leaders death.

This picture shows Maximus, a gladiator fighting for his life. He used to be a general but that all changed when his jealous friend put the blame on him for the King's death. The kingdom sent for Maximus and his family to be killed. When they failed to kill Maximus, he sought revenge to kill the guy who killed the king and for killing his family. During his journey he had to overcome a series of fights in arenas. He became a celebrity and made his enemy, the king now, jealous. Because of this the king then went to his cell to stab him and then battle him in the arena in front of everybody. Even when Maximus was injured he still won. No matter what, he did what was right and killed the guy responsible. He ended up dying at the end, but he saw it as a way to reunite with his family.

I chose this picture because it shows the bad side of a warrior. The Terminator in the first version is a robot sent from the future to kill a boy named John Connor. Since he is a robot he has no feelings towards anybody that stands in his way of killing John. In other words, nothing would stop him from getting to John Connor and murdering him. That was his mission from the day he was made, and that is all he was programmed for. Even though he failed in killing John, he died trying because he was committed.

Reality, TV, and Reality TV 1.4

I have always thought about a type a situation where a man creates a different type of world for a guy. This was the first I have watched The Truman show and I was amazed that I have never heard of it before and I am a big Jim Carrey fan. I was more amazed that in the movie instead of studying his behavior towards the type of friendly and “safe” environment, they decided to turn it into a TV show. When Truman had the choice of staying in that world or going into the real world, he didn’t hesitate making the decision of going into the real world. The question I ask myself and I’m sure many has asked after watching this movie is; What does he expect to find on the other side of the door?
Many things can happen to Truman once he steps out of that world. For one, he is super popular and possibly the most famous celebrity of all time. With that said, he will first explore how the people really are and he will be surprised. Many people already know him so it will be difficult to live a normal life being a celebrity. He will also have to find a job to support himself. With no “real” high school diploma and education he will probably not find a very good job, which will have him living from check to check. He is also going to face the fact that he has no family whatsoever and will be very lonely despite the fact that everybody knows him. He will see how people really are and the history of us. He will find out about wars, genocides, murders, rapes and realize the evil real people have in will be shocked. I believe that he will soon realize that it isn’t his place to live in and will want to return to Seahaven because he wouldn’t really fit in.
This movie really relates to “The Allegory of the Cave” in many ways. The “prisoner” would be Truman, the cave would be Seahaven and the shadows would be everybody involved with the show that has been lying to Truman all of his life. When Truman suspects that many events in his life are extremely weird such as his father reappearing and his ex girlfriend saying “it is all a set for you” he begins to realize the truth. This can be considered Truman the “prisoner” as “staring in amazement at the shadows that are created for us”. He starts to notice that the world he is living in revolves around him. When he escapes into the ocean and overcomes his fear would be considered “walking out to into light” because he finally set his fear of water aside and demands for the truth.
Truman Burbank expected the truth and got it, but I don’t believe he would like it. He wouldn’t have the choice of going back anymore because the idea of him living a controlled life is now spoiled because he knows now. He could however, ask for some money for being the star of his own show.

My Place In The Cave 1.3

In the allegory of the cave I believe that Plato used the prisoners as an example of us the people. The one prisoner that got to be free would be him or a philosopher because of how they understood that the “shadows” were not their realities. They are explaining that we should not only just believe the stuff we hear on the TV, radio, etc. but we should sit down and ask ourselves why. Most people would hear some of the most absurd stuff and will just believe it because a “reporter” says it, when in reality they do not know the whole truth behind the story he or she is reporting. I think every single person can relate to the allegory and know which stage they are in.
At the stage of being chained I believe that it is the same as me being a child. Growing up I asked many questions about life as most kids do. We asked those questions to our most influential person in our lives, which most likely are our parents. When we ask those questions and our mother or father gives us their perspective on it, we believe it as if it is fact or truth. Not knowing it is just an opinion we believe it and don’t really care for it anymore. Like the prisoners in the allegory they saw something or heard something and made it into their reality since that’s all they experienced. I believed whatever my mother believed because she was older and my view on life was dependant through her answers. So, in a way the shadows were the prisoner’s “parents”.
At this point of my life I am probably looking at the shadows that are created for us. Now that I am older I am trying to understand why things are the way they are instead of just listening. I am more curious and realizing more about the life around us and how our society works. I know I am in this stage because I do not fully know what are the possibilities that I can turn my life into. I am convinced that I have and will be living my life as I did the past 18 years. I refuse to believe I am ready.
I do plan on going all the way even though it is a scary thought. I’m not sure I would like what I would see just as Socrates and Plato wrote about how the prisoner was surprised. Unlike that prisoner however, I would like to explore outside of the cave instead of going back inside. I’m always ready for something new.

My Heroic Day 1.2

According to Joseph Campbell, we are all heroes every single day. I fully agree with this statement. I believe that this is true because every day we go through an adventure whether we know it or not. Unless a person just stays home all day laying in their bed, that would make Joseph Campbell statement false. Every single day in our lives is similar to a heroic journey that we go through to accomplish our problems.
On Saturday I felt like I had encountered a heroic journey by the way my mom gave me the “call to adventure”. She had said I better go do the grocery shopping while she was away at work. I totally denied and refused because I would waste time and I was too lazy to even bother.  She then said that she would give me a reward if I do what she had asked me to. I then realized that this would be similar to my English course of the “Heroic Journey “. Finally, I agreed only because of the reward that my mother had promised.
Since I just woke up I was too tired to stand up and write the things down that she needed so I tried memorizing them. I then went to the supermarket which was new to me because I had never been there before. I felt out of place and it took me a long time to accomplish buying all the stuff my mom asked me to. When I got home I called my mom to tell her that I got the job done. She repeated all the things that she wanted me to buy and I realized that I forgot to buy the milk! That meant that I would have to go all the way back to the supermarket to buy just a gallon of milk. She felt disappointed in me and hung up.  As I was on my way back I realized that if I wasn’t lazy and actually gotten up and written the things down I wouldn’t have to been doing this job twice.
After I got back home for the second time I felt accomplished with what I have done. By the time my mom got home she looked and checked if everything was there. I asked about my reward quick so I could leave because I thought it was going to be money. She looked at me, laughed and gave me a hug. She considered that to be a reward for me. I got angry at her and left to the park to cool down. When I got home she said that if I had not gotten the groceries then I wouldn’t have had food to eat the next day. She then gave me 20 dollars for doing her that favor. I felt happy because I got money out of it.
I felt like a hero because I saved my mom the trouble of getting the groceries. She already works hard so I did the favor she asked me to do. It might not be much of a heroic journey but at the end of that day I was my mom’s hero.

Technology 1.1

Ever since I can remember I have used some type of technology for my entertainment. Even with toys I have played with had to have batteries installed so that it can do something like speak or move. Now that I am older I use technology more than ever and I do not think I am going to stop anytime soon. Without technology, I would feel disconnected from the world. I am not ashamed to admit that I am dependant on technology.
When i wake up in the morning, i go straight to my computer to check my email. While at it, i check for new music, sports scores, and just regular news. I then check my phone for any missed calls or texts i have recieved while i was sleeping. Then, i would turn on my tv and put on a movie on my DVD player. Mostly everything i do has to deal with technology.
I think it is a bad thing because if it wasnt for all of that, i would be studying and reading instead of wasting my time. I would get many more things accomplished in all of that time. It is a bad thing because it is an addiction.
If i were to have every type of device i use taken away from me, my life would be completely different. The only possible entertainment would be reading books and playing sports. i would spend my time getting smarter and better in school. It is very scary even thinking about it.
Technology is basically to entertain our boring lives we live today. It gives us sports, social networking, news, gossip among other things. I am dependant to technology because i can not see myself without it.
